the emotion of great delight or happiness caused by something exceptionally good or satisfying.

Great delight, happiness, exceptionally good, satisfying. These are only a few of the words to describe the emotions I have experienced this week as we have invaded our nations capital by force to pour out the love of Jesus to a place that so desperately needs it. I knew that D.C. was going to be hard ground but I must admit the spiritual climate was a bit worse than I had imagined. Tension, vain urgency and despair are the earmarks of life in a city which is most certainly the most important place in the world if one considers the global implications of the decisions that are made here on a daily basis.

What a privilege to partner with the creator of the universe to accomplish His plan and purpose for this city. The Celebration Leadership College interns have come here earnestly believing that strongholds will be broken and the darkness that engulfs these lives will be rolled back by the power of the living God. Day by day, time and time again God has showed up in a mighty way to show that He does indeed care about His precious sons and daughters here. Whether it be favor with school officials in a south east D.C. neighborhood or an opportunity to walk directly onto the floor of an inner city “hypothermia unit” housing well over 100 men who sleep there to avoid freezing to death on the streets, the favor of God has been all over this trip.

The God given passion to win this city is a shining beacon of light which has been evident in each and every member of this team as they have so diligently stepped out of their comfort zones to spread the love of Jesus. Not only have seeds been planted and lives been changed already, God has also been at work changing their lives. How they look at themselves, their lives in the U.S. and the world around them has been drastically altered in just a few short days. The implications of these changes will last a life time for most. What an honor to serve along side this group of young men and women who are destined to become the movers and shakers of their generation.

  1. It is awesome to hear all that God is doing in DC, in the people that live there and in the interns as well! Our God is an AWESOME God!! You all continue to be in my prayers. Much Love

  2. Colossians 2:6-7
6So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, 7rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

Sounds like you guys are really shakin’ things up! Ahh-Yebo! It is awesome that our God is everywhere and cares so deeply about ALL His people whether they live in Jax, DC, or Swaziland.
Be blessed with the opportunity of this week set aside to be used by God in His plan and to be streched! I can’t wait to hear more stories! 🙂
