Zambia College Life: Leaving Tomorrow

It’s honestly hard for me to believe that this moment is finally upon us. I was blown away when I was asked to be the leader of this trip and I was wondering just how it would all work out–who the team members would be, how we would all raise the money, and how I could possibly be qualified to lead an entire team. The amazing thing that I have learned from this whole experience is that God really does take care of everything. Even when we can’t see the money or the time or the physical evidence in front of us, we still have to trust that He will work all things together for the good in His timing.

One of my favorite moments was the night that our $1,800 payment was due. There were quite a few that were struggling and it literally looked like there was no way that everyone could possibly make it. If they didn’t make this payment, then they wouldn’t be able to come on the trip. To see the way that God moved in that situation and provided hundreds and hundreds of dollars within days, completely boggles the human mind! It was a beautiful miracle and served to increase the faith of so many team members. One girl in particular came up to me that Wednesday night and immediately began jumping up and down. We jumped together as she exclaimed that all the money had been raised where it seemed like there was no way!

We all have a heavy sense of God’s calling and purpose for this trip. I know that God called each individual for a reason and I have enjoyed seeing us come together as a team. As we take off on this exciting journey tomorrow, please continue to pray for our team and all that God wants to accomplish through us.

  2. Liz,

This is marvelous. I am so proud that you are leading the trip.

The Lord is going to work mightily in Zambia.

I told you this before, but I’ll say it again here. There is something marvelous to think God would use a group from Celebration, of all the people He could have used throughout history, or in all the world today, to be instruments to reach a tribe in Zambia for the Lord. We would have liked to see these people reached sooner, but the Lord has His perfect time. And His perfect time is now.

God speed. Until the team’s next update.

God has specifically called YOU to step up to the plate and lead this group of individuals into an unfamiliar territory and engage in the precense of the Lord with your brothers and sisters in christ in Zambia. You are such an encouraging woman of God and I know the team looks up to you, as well as myself. Have a wonderful rest of the trip and I can’t wait to see you all when you get back. God Bless!!!
