Guatemala Medical Trip – Guatemalan Experience So Far

pic11This is my first missions trip experience. It is something I have always said I would like to do, but to actually be in Guatemala on this is so surreal. There have been numerous experiences and encounters with the Guatemalan people that have truly touched my heart. During one of the medial clinics in Magdalena, a young boy, the age of 12, came alone to receive help. I was amazed by his strength and prayed that he would know he is a child of God and God has a special plan and purpose for his life.

We visited a Guatemalan school for children with Downs Syndrome and an orphanage for abandoned Guatemalan children. Each family that started these ministries sold their homes and gave up everything for these Guatemalan children. The example of their servant hearts in so overwhelming and beautiful. I feel that God has told me to be still and know that He is God. Each of us has been chosen for a specific purpose to serve these Guatemalan people. We need to have faith in knowing that He is in control and His seed and love will be planted in each heart that we come across and His word will grow strong in their hearts. Til next time…

  1. Hi Steph! Awesome to hear all that God is doing through you and the team in Guatemala- can’t wait to chat with you once you get back. I will continue to pray for you while you are there. Love you!

  2. Congratulations on your trip to Guatemala. I came for the first time about 15 years ago and haven’t been able to stop coming back – now I’ve moved down here full time again with my wife and kids. We likewise have been involved in orphanages, medical trips, education etc. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for helping the wonderful people of Guatemala!
