1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NIV): “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

Love to me is a hug and a kiss from a friend or family member. Love to them in Costa Rica is a simple smile, hand shake, games and affection. In 1Corinthians 13, they say you may have enough faith to move mountains, but if you do it without love then it means nothing. In Costa, that’s so true because if you give to the homeless it’s great but if you do it without love or affection it means nothing.

I want to say I love all my family and friends back home. I want them to know how beautiful God’s glory is. Mom, I love you the purplest! Love, Madison Brantley

This trip has definitely impacted my life. Today we climbed about half a mountain. We reached our stopping point at a beautiful waterfall. Almost all of us got baptized there. It was a dream come true and I never thought I would be happy about having numb legs and feet! It was cool knowing the Pastor who baptized me too. I honestly don’t want to leave Costa Rica, this place is amazing – the love these people have for God is indescribable, although it would be nice hearing a message in English again. – Maddison Hobbing
