You’ll never believe where we are now…

Hey it’s Kathryn again. Ok so good news…we are now in Jo-burg! Yesterday, after spending 10 hours in the Jacksonville airport, the travel agent was able to get us a flight going to Washington-Dulles at 2:40. Then we got right on South African airlines (no down time there) and headed for Dakar. There we stopped for an hour for people to get on and off and we landed in Johannesburg at 4:30 p.m. today. Since there’s only one flight a day going to Bulowayo, we missed it since we came in too late. That’s ok though because God provides! My teacher friend, Bre, is married to a nice man whose parents just so happen to live 45 minutes from the airport. Bre and I were talking about my trip before I left and I had met her mother-in-law, Denise, last week when she flew in to visit Bre and Grant to meet her newborn grandson. Bre had mentioned that if we need anything when we’re in Jo-burg, that I could call Denise and she would take care of us. So after we discovered we would have to spend the night in the airport, I called Bre and she arranged for us to stay at her in-laws. We are here right now and their hospitality has been overwhelming. They are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. They borrowed a friend’s VW microbus to take all of us and our 24 bags of luggage to their house to spend the night. Denise cooked some yummy South African food for us and we all got a hot shower and now we’re just hanging out and talking. We are so grateful for their kindess and generosity. They are taking us to the airport tomorrow morning and then we’ll be in Bulowayo!
