LA Dream Center

Recap from Karen-

This was just an all around amazing trip! We all experienced so much, and had an unforgettable experience. After a life changing day on Skid Row, which many of us did not know what to expect, it seemed like it only got better from that point.

For the remainder of the week, we worked in a clothing store, washed people’s car windows with Adopt-A- Block, ministered to another family with Project Prevention, attended a service on Thursday night and Friday Morning, participated in food distributions, and twelve of us went back to Skid Row on Friday night to minister, and hand out food.
Each of us would come back with stories every night during debriefing, that just impacted our lives. It was interesting to hear each of us tell stories of what happened that day, and how we we affected by those times.

Our team leaders Pastors Lisa and Willie Johnson, jumped right in with us, and the example they set was so encouraging.

One of the things that many of us realized is that the simplest things, like bagging someone’s clothes or food, or handing them a cup of water, shaking their hand and introducing ourselves, had the biggest impact, and was the happiest of times.

We are all forever changed, and will remember this one week for the rest of our lives.
