Zimbabwe is on my mind

What can I say, anther trip to Zim and another piece of my heart has been left behind….

Today is my first day back to work and I have the typical blah feeling. It’s a good thing though.

My wife Liz said it best today in a Facebook post:
“If you’re not ready to get wrecked & broken for Jesus..
Don’t go on a missions trip.
If you’re not ready to FEEL the depths of Gods heart on a new level..
Don’t go on a missions trip.
If you’re not ready to be stretched & to grow..
Don’t go on a missions trip.
If you’re not ready to touch the untouchable, love the unloveable & sit with the poor & learn from them..
Don’t go on a missions trip.
If you’re not ready to get unfomfortable..
Dont go on a missions trip.
If you’re not ready to lay down your life for the sake of others..
Really don’t go.
Because the moment you do, your life will never be the same, your perspective will never be the same, your heart will never be the same.
So if you’re content in where you are with Jesus.
Really, don’t go.”

Every time I go to Zimbabwe, God does some amazing things in me and the team. This time God showed me that my wife has the same heart for Zimbabwe that I do. We did some amazing things their. From serving the people at the Hideout to presenting the goats for the “Goats for Girls” initiative. Then of course, Shine! These initiatives such as Goats for Girls, Chicks for Chicks, Bricks for Chicks, & the sewing room are making a huge impact on the communities in Zimbabwe. Seeing their faces, they send their thanks. If you haven’t been, YOU HAVE TO GO see what a great work that is being done there.

  1. Wow, what a powerful alert to those considering a mission trip. Well, we are ready, leaving 8/31 to N. Ireland with expectations from the Lord to do great works. Thanks so much for sharing, I am printing and sharing at our last mission mtg tonight with the team. Natalie Helms OP N. Ireland Mission
