Serving His Servants (Sisterhood Northern Ireland)

‘Ello All. We are wrapping up another amazing day in Northern Ireland. As I looked around at all that was going on today, as CCNI prepared to host a membership class at the team house, for the first time, it dawned on me just how blessed this campus is to have such a faithful servant in Pastor John Scott. Here is a man who left his whole life to answer the call of Our Lord. He packed up his family, moved clear across the pond, surrounded himself with funny accents, and started spreading the love of Christ. He is a servant. And, today, we had the pleasure of serving him.

This is a big week for CCNI. With membership class tonight, table top leaders meeting tomorrow, Sisterhood Night on Friday, and two church services on Sunday, there was a lot to be done! Pastor John gave us a few items on his team house to-do/wish list and let us take the reigns. We divided into teams, based on our talents and set out to serve. A few women went shopping for things for all the events and tasks, a few cleaned, a few organized, and a few decorated. Membership class was a success and several of the church leaders hung around for fellowship afterwards. Although we are here to serve, we had such a great time with each other, bonding, laughing, and building new relationships. We were serving each other, without even knowing it.

Isn’t that the joy that we should find in serving the way we were called to? Laughing through it rather than laboring through it? Building relationships rather than statuses? “Just as the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom to many.” (Mark 10:45 AND Matthew 20:28). I pray we all take the time to serve the servants around us.
