Costa Rica Hardee Team: Day 1 (We Finally Made It!)

First of all, I would like to thank 6:8 Ministries for their hospitality as we partner with them during this mission trip.  It’s crazy that the only word that I can come up with is WOW!  When we started this trip at 7:00 – 7:30 this morning, I don’t think that any of us expected what we’ve already encountered this day.  God’s favor has definitely been upon us from the very beginning, from checking into Orlando Airport and boarding our flight.  It was such a smooth transition for us, there was hardly any wait time, even to the point of arrival in Costa Rica.  For me personally, this has been the very first mission trip that I have ever experienced, so needless to say I have definitely been overwhelmed with a plethora of emotions.  To say the least, the excitement among our team has been clearly evident this entire day and will continue throughout this week.  I am so excited to be able to have the opportunity to do God’s work, serve His people, and show His love.  There are a couple of things that I would like to share with you that we have already experienced. We went out on a prayer walk this afternoon to see the area of Alajuelita,  it was amazing to see the people and culture that make up this area.  It was such an eye opening experience, one I will never forget.  We also got the opportunity to spend some time with some kids at a local park.  The team split up and some played soccer and some of us played with the younger kids on the playground.  The little time we spent there was so amazing and surely touched each one of our hearts.  We are definitely looking forward to spending more time with those kids and building relationships.  Day 1 has definitely set the atmosphere for what we are going to experience and has allowed us to set our expectations even higher than we imagined.  I look forward to fulfilling our purpose here in Costa Rica and to continue it back home. If you would like to stay updated with all that we are experiencing here in Alajuelita, Costa Rica, you can follow on Twitter and Instagram @68_ministries and look for #celebrationhardee
