Costa Rica Hardee Team: Day 4

We headed out the doors at about 9:00am this morning. We walked to the bus stop and hopped on a bus headed to a neighborhood with government housing, called Tiribi. The staff from 6:8 Ministries prepared and delivered  lunch to set up a “Feeding Center” there. Hotdogs, chips, cookies & kool-aid was on the menu! The children lined up and Pastor Karina from Celebration Costa Rica said a blessing over the food and with a loud “Amen” the meal distribution began.
After lunch, we served at the Kids’ Club after school program that goes on Mon- Fri at our church campus in Costa Rica. Angel, Amos, Gloria and myself lead children’s worship in Spanish with movements for each song. We had a BLAST!
Gloria had an awesome Bible lesson prepared about the sword of the spirit. Her illustrations and high energy level captivated the children’s attention, as they listened to every word that spilled out of her mouth. My favorite part of the lesson was when she had balloons blown up and each one had a different lie that the enemy tells us, written on them.  One read “You aren’t going to amount to anything in life!” A little girl read it out loud and with much passion and confidence she shouted,”That’s a lie from the enemy!” A volunteer cut through the lie and popped the balloon with a plastic sword to show how important the word of God is and how we need it to cut through the enemy’s lies. We all cheered and celebrated as each “lie” was popped by the sword.
My experience here has been incredible! There’s so much work to be done for The Lord- not only in Costa Rica, but in every part of the globe- even in our hometowns. Different places and different faces, but the need is still the same and that is Jesus Christ! The Lord is looking for more people who are passionate about His Father’s business, will you answer the call?

Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, “Whom will I send? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me!”
