Costa Rica Hardee Team: Day 6

This morning we had the privilege of serving at Celebration Church, Costa Rica. Even though we were in a different country, it was so amazing to feel that overwhelming sense of “home” as soon as we walked through the doors. Pastor Miguel and Karina and all the volunteers at the church are doing an incredible job and the move of God is so strong and evident in the community of Alejuelita.

After church, we all headed to a nearby town called San Juan. We went a Hotel named, Hotel Del Ray, which is used as a brothel. Prostitution is not illegal in Costa Rica and women can actually register as a prostitute. We were able to go inside the hotel. We all sat at the bar, to not draw attention to ourselves, ordered cokes and prayed. Praying may seem so small compared to the evil that was around us but James 5:16 tells us that the prayer of a righteous man is both POWERFUL and EFFECTIVE. So I prayed boldly. I prayed that God’s light would shine in that dark place, that the hotel would shut down, that the girls would come to know Jesus and experience the freedom, hope, and restoration that only comes through Him. It was a very powerful moment for me personally as I was able to walk in the authority of Christ and not be intimidated by what the enemy was doing.  I definitely feel as though God is preparing me for the future through that experience.

Our trip is coming to an end and we will be heading back to the states bright and early tomorrow, please continue to pray for our team as we travel home.
